Urgent EPFO Deadline: Submit Form Before July 28 To Keep Your Pension Active

Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation issues warning: failure to submit the newly required pensioners’ form by July 28, 2025, will lead to the nonprocessing of pension payments from August 1, 2025. This change comes as part of the EPFO’s exercise to clean up and verify data along with records and compliance with the new pension norms of the Pension Scheme under EPS.

Why This Update Matters

Following the 2025 reforms to better manage pensions, faster grievance redressal, and linking digital records, more updated measures are now in place. Amid a surge in duplicate claims, outdated records, and dormant UANs (Universal Account Numbers), EPFO has made it mandatory for pensioners to update their documents to continue receiving pension payments.

What Is the New Form?

The New form is a Pensioner Verification and Compliance Form, covering:

  • Updated Aadhaar and bank details.
  • UAN activation confirmation
  • Digital or physical re-verification of identity
  • Signature / Thumb impression
  • Update nomination (if necessary)

This form is mandatory for:

  • EPS-95 Pensioners
  • Claimants for spouse/family pension
  • Retirees drawing pension payment on a monthly basis through EPFO

Very Crucial Deadline

  • Last date for submitting forms: 28th July 2025
  • Suspension of pension: With effect from 1st August 2025 if the form is not submitted.

The Mode of Depositing Form?

1. Online Mode of Submission (Recommended)

  • Go to the EPFO Member Portal.
  • Enter your UAN and OTP for logging into the portal.
  • Fill the form and upload documents required.
  • Submit the form digitally using either e-sign or Aadhaar OTP.

2. Offline Submission

  • Download the form from the EPFO website or obtain it from the nearest EPFO office.
  • Fill the form and sign it.
  • Submit the form to the nearest EPFO branch or Common Services Centre (CSC).

What if the Deadline Is Missed?

If the form remains ungarnished on or before 28 July, monthly pension payments shall be suspended by the EPFO with effect from 1 August 2025. Now the pensioners must lodge the pension form for re-verification that would need some weeks to reimburse pending payments.
